I am NOT loving uterus pain--it's been my companion for a couple of nights now. I do, however, absolutely LOVE watching the baby move around before I go to bed. From what I've gathered, Beach Baby favors the right side.
My pre-pregnancy jeans still fit, and depending on what time of day it is, I can usually button them up. If not, I just use a rubber-band. They are actually more comfortable than the maternity pants I got from Jamie, so I hope to go shopping soon and get some new ones.
I love that I'm starting to show more...it makes me feel legit. :)

On the Move
Last night after I got out of the shower, I was putting Coco Shea Butter on my belly (apparently it helps prevent stretch marks) when I noticed that my stomach was shaped funny. The ride side was a little pointier than the left. I kept looking and then I watched the point move from the right to the left and then do a jig across my entire belly!
It was so amazing. I couldn't look away--my baby must be a little dancer, because there was a LOT of movement! I could hardly believe it and I immediately called my already-asleep husband into the bathroom to see. He said, "Wow, awesome!" and then went back to bed. :)
When I went to bed I felt a little kick on the right side and I was so excited I almost smacked Mike in the face trying to wake him up. He was a lost cause so I just stayed awake for awhile, feeling my baby move and thinking that pregnancy has its perks. I love this and I can't wait to feel the baby better!

16 Weeks & a Photoshoot!
My seester, cousin and I did a glamour session this past week and it was so much fun! Alyse taught us more about lighting in a studio, and she let us use her AMAZING flash...it was seriously a night and day difference! I am in the process of editing some pictures of Alyse and Jamie, but they've done so well that I might not worry about it. :)
At 16 weeks I noticed that I get little bursts of pain along my hips and in my stomach. The doctor told me that these pains are just my uterus/hips stretching and they are completely normal--that doesn't mean I like it! I am a lot less nauseous but there are still times when I want to die a little.
My belly likes to pick what days it will show and what days it won't. For example, at the photoshoot I TOTALLY have a baby bump, but today? Nothing. Just a little bit of blubber. I can't wait for my belly to get hard and stick out so people can obviously tell that I've got a bun in my oven (so cliche, but I had to say it).
Anyway, I loved the photoshoot and I'm just glad to be getting closer to week 20 so I can find out what I'm having! :D

*15 Weeks and FINALLY showing!*
See that? That itty bitty gut? That's my BABY!
I am having a really hard time wearing clothes that used to be very flattering on me, because I keep expecting to look as good as I did before. This red sweater? I used to look smokin' in that--but now I very definitely have a little pouch of babyness.
I feel like I shouldn't be showing yet, but then I realize that I am getting close to the halfway mark (20 weeks), so I probably should be showing. I just wish that it was a more definite pregnancy bump, instead of looking like I've just been eating my feelings.
I've got a LOT of new maternity clothes (courtesy of the seester) and I am actually really excited to start wearing them--especially since they aren't technically maternity clothes, they're just really stylish with an empire waist. :)
15 Weeks/2nd Trimester
-I have started to throw up in this trimester. However, contrary to what many of my pregnant friends and family have experienced, I actually do feel better when I've done it.
-I am craving milk like nobody's business. It's one of the few things that really calms my stomach.
-My skin is SO itchy, especially my back. If Mike hated scratching my back in church before, he definitely hates it now!
-I can't seem to walk as fast I used to. This may sound weird, but I will try to power walk and my body refuses to pick up speed. I don't huff and puff and die on the sidewalk or anything, but I can't seem to maintain a fast pace. It's making me crazy.
-Cereal only makes me feel full for about an hour, and then after that I get really nauseous. That should probably mean I should stop eating it, but I have a special bond with my cereal that nausea cannot break.
-My skin is dry. Like carry-every-type-of-body-lotion-in-my-purse-and-backpack dry.
There will come more random things, I am sure. I really need to get the book What to Expect When You're Expecting, but I keep forgetting. Have any of you read it? How useful do you find it?
Until next time!

The First Appointment!
I had my first official doctor's appointment today and I'm so happy! I had to give a urine sample, get my blood pressure taken, and discuss any hereditary problems or defects. I was so nervous the whole time! I just wanted to see my baby and make sure everything was okay.
My new due date is July 6, 2011. The first pregnancy test was pretty accurate, being July 10, but now I am about a week further than I thought. :)
I didn't know that I was getting an ultrasound--I thought they would only let Mike and I listen to the heartbeat--but I was so excited when I did! Our little Beach babe had some SERIOUS hiccups the whole time! It was so cute...the baby kept jumping up each time a hiccup came. :)
The heartbeat is excellent and our baby is perfect! I expected to see this weird little alien, but our baby actually looks like a baby! The picture doesn't do it justice, but seriously...my baby is freakin' CUTE! The little profile...oh, I could die. I kept laughing and Mike was just grinning his face off. I'm so glad that he skipped class to be there when we saw our baby for the first time!
It's real now...that little baby is INSIDE of me, stealing my nutrients and making me fat...and I couldn't be happier. :) My doctor is a stud (Dr. Weibell) and the nurses were all very nice. I'm excited for my second appointment in February, when I'll be 20 weeks and be able to find out the gender! If you haven't, vote on the Gender Guess and let me know what you think!

Fuzzy Wuzzy
I am turning into a big furry animal. I am starting to get more hair along my neck under my jawbone. What is that?! All I can say is that I am very grateful to be a natural blonde, otherwise I would probably have to break out Mike's Mach 3.

Dang it!
I have been taught to suck in my gut all my life. Not because I was told I was a chubbs (which I WAS, thanks for NOT telling me!), but because I guess it helps with posture or something like that. I had a pageant mom, what do you expect?
Anyway, I can no longer suck in and look gutless. I can suck in a little, but the pudge lingers on. I am in that awkward are-you-pregnant-or-did-you-gain-five-pounds stage.
I am feeling so unattractive and fat. Hopefully the recent vomiting sessions will help get rid of extra chub and my resumed walks around campus will help as well. Either way, I want a baby bump!
